Sophie's 1st Birthday!

It's hard to believe, but Sophie has turned 1!. The year has flown so fast and yet it feels as if she has always been with us.

We celebrated her birthday by taking the children to Bizee Bodz, the indoor children's playground. Everyone had heaps of fun. Sophie loved the ball pit and she climbed to the upper levels and had fun crawling through the tunnels and sitting in the bubble playing with the steering wheel.

In the afternoon we had a lovely party at home with just the family and a few unexpected visitors who arrived just as we were sitting down for cake. They joined in and helped create the party atmosphere. Erin played the clarinet to accompany us with "Happy Birthday". Andrew loved blowing out the candle. He blew it out on Sophie's behalf 3 times. Sophie enjoyed the attention and loved eating the cake!

Of course there was plenty of time to play with the presents. Her favourite things are the mobile phone (a toy one, don't worry she won't be dialling or SMSing on a real one any time soon!) and her new doll and pram. She is enjoying toddling around the house pushing the pram, although it is hard going on the tiles when you have socks on! The bigger children love the Fisher Price "gum ball" machine with its big plastic balls and it plays music when you push the handle and the plastic balls roll down.

It is school holidays and this made it all the better having all 4 children together all day. Stay tuned for updates on the Zatschler adventures over the next week. We have horse-riding, a trip to the zoo and a visit to the Bathurst show planned.
